Hi all
I am converting my Scott Aspect 910 mountain bike to an Ebike. I am adding a Bafang mid drive and battery pack which I am looking forward to doing but can't believe how much I do not know about bikes!. I am hoping that all you nice people out there can help me answer a few questions?

It should be a very easy conversion. everything on that bike is made for it apart from the cassette if it's a 10-speed. I'm not sure if the standard chain-wheel is thin enough for 10-speed. Can someone confirm? I know 9-speed is OK. If not, you have to buy an after-market chain-ring, like a Bling Ring.

Thanks for replying and I see that you have also kindly replied on the other (same ) question for me as well. I don't know why the cassette size is a problem but I should have said that I am having that replaced with an Nuvici hub so there would only be 1 cog on the back anyway. Does that make a difference?

Thanks

Don't waste your time with a Nuvinci. Normal gears are easier to change. When the Nuvinci is under load from the motor, it's difficult to shift. They don't give you any advantage, plus they're heavy. You find that you'll be using the shifter like a throttle. It's a bit weird at first. My advice is to stick with derailleur gears and use a gear sensor.
