Hello
- I've got a Hybrid bike with hydraulic disc brakes. I'd like to convert it to an ebike.
- I'm not any sort electrician or fitter but I'm handy with almost anything so fancy a crack at doing this.
- I've got no idea about Wattages, Volts, Amperages and how they balance up but I'm after something a bit meaty, I'm 6'2" and 14stone. I cycle 10 miles to work over reasonably flat road to a couple of low grade hills. Definitely a high V battery with say a 500w hub..
- I would like the option to have more power than 15mph (I am aware of the risks, laws, rules) but not much more, just a bit more than what my legs can achieve. Maybe 20-22mph.
- Budget: Looking for something reliable, a decent kit. There are some cheapies on a big Amazing website, I reckon cheap for a reason. How about £600-700. What would I get for that?
- Front or Rear hub? Probably front if I had to choose, less hassle with gears and swapping them over. Surely a front wheel exchange would be easier?
- My bike is a Hybrid (Specialised XL).
- Tyres say; 700c. 700 x 38 . 38-622
- Gap between forks 10cm exact.
- Gap for wheel nuts (drop outs?) 10mm exact.
Any advice very generouly accepted.
Thanks for reading..
