Hi folks, I’m Steve

I’m actually a wheelchair user but I have a front attached power drive which basically uses ebike parts, so thought this would still be a good place for advice.

It uses a direct drive hub motor in the front wheel and a 48v battery and controller.

Welcome Steve and a happy new year to you.
We have a couple of wheel chairs users going the add on route, just fire away with an Q's or issues you have.
In principle the conversions are the same, just without the use of pas levels.

If lithium a generic one should be available on ebay or if you want something a bit more pricey use a meanwell HLG/CLG as used to led lights.
Pointless charging under the balance charge (unless you use a smart bms) as cells may wander a little and become unbalanced. My routine is to leave all batterie at 37.5- 38.5v when not in use and then fully balance charge during the night before use.
