Hi people, glad I have found this forum so full of info.

Recently I moved in London and my conmuting as been increased from 3 to 12 kms. I have some respiratory problems and that distance is not feasible for me right now. So I am thinking about converting my bike with a kit to avoid the cost of tube and bus.

This is my current bike.

I like the fact of being able to put inside most the cables to keep all nice and tidy but to be honest I am not sure if this bike can be reliable for 23 kms a day. Till now I had no problem and is one of the few bikes that fits my short size. I appreciate if anyone can tell me if I am missing something about the bike that make it a bad candidate for a kit. I think I can fit a bottle batery without problems.

Any help appreciated. Best regards.

I have some concerns about it, but with a bit of inventiveness they can probaby be overcome, depending on how much power, range and speed you want.

The problem is to fit a battery. The frame shape means that it's tricky to fit one there and the mountings for a rack don't look strong or robust enough for a rack battery. The lower fitting is on the seat-stay rather than the solid bit by the axle. That would put a bending load on the auminium tube, which would cause metal fatigue.
