Noise from motor - hall sensor issue?

Hi,

I'm a complete novice on this, so I apologize for my lacking knowledge, but would greatly appreciate some advice.

I recently replaced the controller in my ebike (a cheap bike with hub motor from 2017), and since I put it together again I get a loud noise on acceleration. Sometimes the motor also cuts off alltogether, but it runs smoothly and nice when up to speed.

Googling around it seems that this may be related to hall sensor/motor phases. The connectors from my motor are the phase wires (green, blue and yellow) and a connector with three wires, red, white and black (see image, connected here to my old controller) . I didn't think this was the hall sensor, since on my controller this has 6 wires, and so I left it unconnected since the motor seemed to work anyway.

So my question is, could this indeed be a hall sensor connector and could it be responsible for the noise? And if so, how can I connect it to a six-cable connector in my controller (if even possible)?45802

The three thin wires are for internal speed sensor, it is a Hall sensor which doesn't affect the motor running as it is only for detecting the speed magnet on the side plate.
Try swapping a pair of the Phase wire over there are only 6 possible combo's to try.
1. B -- B

2. B -- B

3. B -- G

4. B -- Y

5. B -- Y

6. B -- G

If you run with the phase sync incorrect eventually the controller will fail.
