No PAS on used Pro Rider E-Voyager, what do I look for?

Hi Everyone,

I wonder if anyone can give me some clues. I've bought a used Pro Rider E-Voyager for my daughter. The throttle works great but I have no pedal assist. The previous owner said there was some kind of switch which he has disabled/turned off some time ago and preferred to use only the throttle. I am a bit doubtful about this statement. I am hoping it is something simple but as yet I've been unable to locate the PAS sensors, if it even has one. Any advice as to what to look for might be useful.

update: I think I have found the sensor and a wee look inside the controller box though nothing appears detached. Sorry not the best images. Looks like a ring with what could be magnets, opposite what looks like a sensor with a cable coming out of it.

I can't see what you have there, the pics are too dark and dinghy.

PAS systems can't be turned off by a switch, they are the default system for electric drive with some able to utilise a throttle as well.

Yes, I did use a flash but the images did not come out well. I'm assuming therefore that it has either been wired internally to bypass PAS or there is a fault perhaps between the sensor and the magnets. I'm assuming only by measuring the voltage on the correct wires would I be able to determine this.

Between Gnd/Black and 5v/Red you should see about 5v.
Between Gnd and other colour/signal you should see the voltage pulse between 1 - 5v as you turn the cranks, the sensor and magnets in the disk should be within 1 - 2mm.

The controller is in pic one trace the wiring from the PAS tot he controller and check the wire sequence or better still take good pics in sunlight and post them. It is likely I would have thought he has simply disconnected them or cut them.

Thanks for that. If I don't see anything obvious, I'll do it with a mate of mine tho is more confident on testing and wiring etc....
