Looking to replace a 36V electric bike front wheel which has a brushed motor with a 36V brushless version. Controllers and batteries aside would a 36V brushless motor geared rear wheel fit? I acknowledge the gear sprockets would need to be removed but how easy or difficult would it be to shorten the longer axle caused by the sprocket removal?
I ask as (I would prefer to leave the existing rear wheel and gear mechanism in place) I have seen two or three 36V brushless geared rear wheels advertised locally at reasonable prices.
Hoping someone could offer a novice some advice please
