Newie with pedelec problems

Hi
My bike is fine when used with the throttle but the pedelec system does not appear to work. As a new person to these types of bikes could someone please give me a breakdown of how to check over the components and if need be were parts can be orderd from. Thank you

Check that the rotation sensor is in position by the cranks and the right way round.
