Hi All,

I'm new to Pedelecs. I have an old Raleigh, fished from a skip. I'm thinking of getting a mountain/touring bike so that I can fit a motor to. I would like to be able to remove it, or at least most of it, so it will be a simple bike again.

Cheers, Camerart.

Hi Camerart
Welcome to the site, as a new member also, I have canablised a defunct e-bike, and converted it back to a simple push bike, which was quite easy. The drive was on the front wheel which i removed and replaced with a standard wheel, u will need to bring the forks back into fit, by using a long threaded bar with two nuts to fit, and slowly bend the forks back in enough to fit the standard wheel, keeping a check on the welds. I have been using the bike for several years, and have never had any probs with the bike. Rear drives, I not sure this procedure would work.
