Hello

New to site.

I have an eBrompton

I have thus far not been totally happy with it and wonder what my options are if the issues cannot be fixed?

any good threads about power cutting out?

I find if I stand up or go round bends the lights start to flash and the battery cuts out and come back in again a few seconds later. Can pretty much make it happen at will.

battery is clamped in with strap

firmware updated

sometimes accompanied by clicking from the front wheel like I have a huge nail in the tyre.

The clicking noise is likely an electrical contact noise you can here, it usually means the controller isn't syncing correctly and delivers bad electrical signals. The firmware update may be part to blame esp if the controller has a data socket where this is plugged in to.
You can personally check the motor wire connector is fully seat home to ensure a good contact and also from the controller the main motor connector for phase wires Blue, Green & Yellow are again fully push home.
Other wise it is a dealer issue to sort out and may need a new controller fitted or the firm ware checked out /reloaded to try and over come the issue or a parameter /setting issue that may have been changed via the display menu if it has nay advanced optuons.

If you have led/lcd display and it turns off the issue is an interruption between it and the battery, could be the wiring/connection or the battery mount contacts.
Sometimes an internal battery fault may be the issue.

how many chances do you give the reseller to fix it? Is it like a car?

Unfortunately some vendors are just that resellers and not have a clue on how to fault find.
Obviously if you are not happy then it is your right to ask for redress/refund.
