Hi everyone...just joined the community. I live in Merseyside and in early 2011 was given a non-working well-battered Cyclamatic which I managed to repair and was hooked on electric cycling. Later in the year, after much research, I bought myself a new Alien Aurora which I use for my short daily commute.
Apart from a fault with the key switch which was quickly sorted by Alien I have had no problems with the bike. It is what it is... a large framed heavy electric bike...too heavy really to pedal unassisted in the event of a power failure, but under power it really is effortless. On the flat I cannot comfortably keep pace with the motor unless I reduce the power output, but uphill at full power is sheer bliss.
I am now considering converting a light weight tourer or hybrid cycle to electric power but am still looking for the "right" bike to start with. Any advice, suggestions or any other input would be most appreciated.
