new talktalk adsl router scam

this is the second adsl router in 3 years talktalk has sent to my father with the notion of it improoving our internet speeds......and it hasnt

both has reduced my download speed by 2mbs and my upload by 0.25mbs (old router gets 8mbs DL and 1mbs UL)

i therefore am calling this a scam by TALK TALK.....

somewhere someone calculated in talktalk that it was cheaper to send everyone a brand adsl new router and make a saving on how much bandwidth this left spare for new customers....

so if your with talktalk and their adsl service......test yor intenet speed then plug in your old router. or not a branded talktalk one and re-test.

you may be suprised/very annoyed with your service provider.

I was with them a while ago and the server congestion in the evenings made streaming video impossible. They used to be quite cheap and seemed to operate on the smallest server capacity they could get away with.

I left them in disgust after my previous ISP was taken over by them. They guaranteed my old terms and conditions would be preserved and then broke that agreement, knocking my free personal website space out of action. They wouldn't even discuss that.

To me Talk Talk are the pits.

I was with Tiscali and had no probs until TT got their grubby mits on them and the service became **** poor , I finally ditched them before last xmas and switched to Plus net who have up to now been excellent.

Don't know Trex but if they do it is being run separately and the service is far better.

No BT does and it’s their stand alone budget provider.
