Hi hatti

Is it 15a controller ? And what's the replacement battery cost on them

How do you find these bottle batteries compare to the Panasonic celled versions ?

Seems like a fairly keen delivered price given just that bpm kit is 440 delivered with similar uk based guarantee (and that is with panasonics)

Thanks
Kirstin

Hi KirstinS and Eaglerider
Thanks both for your interest.
The controller is 7A-14A, the same as on our other Siroccos but neatly tucked into the base of the battery carrier (like on the Oxygen E-Mate).

The replacement bottle battery (36V 9AH) costs £215 (with Samsung cells).
We'll let you know re Panasonic comparisons in due course (towards spring 2013)
....and thanks Eaglerider - hopefully the price will appeal.
Hatti

A very nice bike. One bike can not be all things to all people. A useful marketing ploy would be to offer a degree of customisation within the price. Personally I like features that I can easily maintain. I prefer derailleurs to hub gears. I prefer Vee brakes to discs. I mostly use an ebike on tarmac, so I hate nobbly tyres. Given a free choice, i would probably prefer non suspension forks. These are just my preferences and others will disagree. I will say that the different models give a fairly good choice of features, and all the bikes look to represent good value for money.
Probably the Aspen would suit me better, it even has mudguards.

Neptune,

Points taken, our Aspen will have crank drive motor next year although it may not be called Aspen anymore.
We should also be able to offer a number of customizations when we start assembling in Cambridge from around October 2013 - we just don't have enough space in Southend.
Amongst things we can offer: forks, cranksets, rims, tyres, mudguards and lights.

Eddieo,

Time to lay off the treacle pud.

interesting new bike which is not a 'road' bike or a 'mountain' bike...what is the target market for such a bike ?????
regards
Are you serious. Never heard of a Hybrid ? You need to get out more.

ha ha......a hybrid ....you are clearly having a joke........this will ride like treacle on the road with those big fat tyres and be useless on anything 'offroad'........ i get out plenty by the way...... also ride some nice purpose built bikes. a 'hybrid' bike however has never been on my shopping list....are they for canal tow paths or just for going down the pub on ????
regards

This looks like a nice bike given it's half the cost of a Wisper. It's great that people working to a low price-point have electric options, imo :)

RobF, yes ;)

Hatti, not sure I should start a new thread for this, but certainly relevant to your bikes. I couldn't find your warranty info on your website, but would assume it's a year on everything bar consumables. Could customers elect to pay an extra sum when purchasing, for an additional year of warranty? I think that'd really give some consumers confidence in a new product they didn't know particularly well (this'd be good for all circa-£800 bikes, imo).

The problem I see with the bike is the 17" frame. I had a bigger frame than that when I was 10. Can't you get them made in larger frame sizes? The webpage says suitable for people up to 6' 2". I can't see many people that size buying one.

target audience for hybrid identified.......in that case it looks an expensive toy as a £100 boneshaker would satisfy just that type of use......
