Hi everyone,

with the new Pedelecs site which is nearing completion, we are also potentially moving away from vBulletin as our forum software to XenForo.

There are many reasons for the possible change, but we would like to try to launch the new site and forum platform together.

If you want to have a look at what XenForo is all about, follow this link : XenForo Community

I have already installed Xenforo onto our new server along with a complete import of the forum content up until the next of last week. If any of you would like 'beta test' the forum, please let me know.

If you haven't made the final decision I'd seriously give phpBB some consideration.

Initially free, no ongoing licence fees & because it's opensource you have full access to the files to edit as you wish. Also no charge for add ons already developed by others.

Examples here:-

TBH, for a free version, my favourite is myBB. Simple and easily customized.

plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.

I find the current version is faulty. Clicking 'What's New' missed so many new posts, is it just me?

+1 from me:) And I only wrote 'from me' because a message has to be a minimum of 10 characters. So much for brevity:p

It would be nice if the buyer's guide flash screen on the home page was active on the new site to offer help for new members.

The forum switch will occur later this month along with the new front-end.

We anticipate it happening on a weekday and the site will be down for several hours while we make the switch.

There will be a new Buyers Guide section directly accessible from the home page.

Thanks for the reply.

Belated birthday felicitations on reaching 45 - you have still got a lot of catching up before you can join the old fogies group:D

Thanks :D, although it was rather odd receiving a happy birthday from my own website!
