Panasonic are to begin testing of their new Tesla developed 4680 cell, reported as costing 50% less then current cells with 5 x capacity increase.
As with some Tesla cells using lifpo4 tech no plans as of yet to follow with the new cell format.
Production is set for 2022 if results are good.
