Good day to all.
My name is Karl, I'm 37, an IT Tech, and suffer with CP and poor mobility and leg issues. I've decided I need to regain some of my fitness, but after dislocating my knee I no longer feel confident in trying to reuse my old mountain bike.
So, I've just bought a 2000 vintage Yamaha XPC26, Spares or repair. For £150, I'm game! Step through frame, power assist on the hills etc, what's not to like?
So far, it has a mild buckle in both wheels..very mild. The rear wheel is canted over and catching on the frame, the dynamo mount is snapped off and the tyres were flat..all easy fix things. The Ni-CD pack was described as "dead". However, it's just completed a refresh charge and recharge cycle fine over 7 hours, and the controller display shows full..so it's looking promising!
Not been on a test ride yet, as it shipped without pedals(!)..however, I fitted some last night, and may take it for a run later.
