Hi guys, I run a giant emtb 27+ and I'm looking to get new tires.

I was considering a pair of Maxxis rekon's either 2.6 or 2.8.
I ride in Portugal, usually dry, a mix between xc and light trail.
Is the region a good option, And how about the 2.60 X 2.80 debate? (Should I bring in the 120tpi Vs 60tpi into the battle??)
I prefer comfort and durability.
Thanks for any help.

My Giant Trance E+3 has Maxxis Minion on the front and Rekons on the back. A couple of times on dry trails the front tyre skittered sideways without warning but OK in soft damp stuff. I may have been running them too hard, not being used to tubeless after my other bikes 26*2.1 tubed Kenda Nevegals which were amazing in the bogs but slow running. I will probably replace the Maxxis with the same again.

Update. decided to change to the latest Kenda Hellcat in the EMC casing which is made specifically for EMTBs. They are supposed to be a lot more free running than the ancient Nevegals I have on my other bikes. £50 each.
