New Improved Torq???

 I see that a new version of the Ezee Torq has been launched by 50Cycles, this seems to have been sneeked in fairly quietly compared to all the publicity the Kalkhoff Agattu Pedelec has been getting.
I assume all these improvements have added to the weight of the bike, so does the increasesd torque from the new motor compensate for this and are there any figures to compare the new with the original, or is it down to a road test?
Has anyone on the forum tested or bought one?

Wouldn't it have been better to do a 'Flecc' and fit the motor on the rear wheel and just not bothering with front suspension and a disc brake?

Better still just get the Flecc Meister to design a bike from scratch, get Ezee to build it, call it an Ezee Flecc and give him a royalty payment for every one sold:)

....especially if the geared hub motor ala Flecc was in there too, it would be an overnight success....

They did announce it and there were a number of members posts about it at the time. I think a few weeks ago now though. I doubt if the weight is up by more than a kilo or so though, todays sprung forks are quite light. The increased torque and change in the power cut-off point should leave the performance about the same. These have been out in South Africa and the USA for some while now,

Apart from the single speed Quando, eZee have a preference for the higher quality derailleurs with the cassette advantages that front motors permit. Rear motors restrict to the ever reducing number of multi-sprocket freewheels which are weaker than cassettes.

It's a difficult decision, neither being definitely the best, and much depends on individual usage, load carrying, towing, road surfaces and whether there's suspension forks or not.

I like rigid forks and rear motors with the improved handling they give, but for those who want sprung forks and don't seem to notice their effects on handling, front motors are ok.
