if its aimed at the over 50s why haven't they got someone that age riding it in the pics, instead of some urban beanie wearer who appears to be cycling through (a) a modern art gallery (b) a primary school art class....which i guess some would say amounts to much the same thing.

seems to be that in the 700 quid price brackets you can get a less ugly, more practical, lithium batteried bike?

It's a lumpy, clumpy looking thing, and it's the SLA battery pack that plays a large part in that.

In China, you can buy a better one than that for about £160. That was the price we saw these at in a supermarket. Normally, the prices of things like that are approximately double by the time you've added transport costs, duty and profit etc. I wanted to buy one and take it home, but I woulldn't have been allowed to ride it because of the higher power.

Even on ebay from time to time there's perfectly serviceable full size, full suspension e-bikes with SLA for about £300.

But as ghouluk remarked, Honda do over price. Their little Step-Combo folding e-bike of circa 2003 was a far better e-bike with a lithium battery, but even back then it was around £1250

It really does suprise me that with all Hondas experience in motor vehicles they should be prepared to sell such a old fashioned / old technology ebike. Does not really do much for their reputaition,

Makes you wonder if it really is a Honda or just some left over publicity bikes from a event that just happens to have the Honda name on them ?.

For minute I thought it was 2006, seems Honda should stick with what it knows and leave e-bikes to the professionals

She appears to be whistling a happy tune and farting music. No mean feat; just ask Mr Methane.

The bike may be a bit last century to us aficionados on here, but most casual buyers won't think about that.

And people like Hondas.

I think it will sell.
