Should easily last long enough to justify the £241, especially with a smaller lighter rider..

Though obviously too much to carry while walking, the weight at 28 kilos isn't bad at all for a 12 Ah SLA batteried e-bike. There are some lithium battery e-bikes at that sort of weight level.

Very weird bike. Looks like a Currie old skool electrodrive that has been repurposed to a mid drive

Don't understand how the gearing works with those 2 chAins

Edit- sorry 241 is delivered as you clearly wrote!

It's the same Unite motor and integral gearbox that the Electrodrive uses these days. With the rear of BB mounting that full size bikes use with the similar Cyclone and the like, the bike chain can be routed around the motor sprocket. With this underslung mounting that isn't practical, so a secondary chain from the motor sprocket goes to the rear hub, presumably with it's own side-by-side freewheel there.

It is basically a Currie drive, but mounted on the other side. It doesn't really count as a mid-drive because the drive doesn't go through the main chain. Instead, it goes directly to the wheel hub, like a sort of remote hub-motor.
