Have fitted new controller and is working , but only when self learning connection is maintained. Is this a problem.?
Have yet to connect brakes and dont have 5v on brake connection. Do i have to take
a 5v supply from say throttle?
(almost there after many hours of soldering with a folding bike in two halfs)

If you have a three wire brake and a two-wire connection, uou have to add a 5v feed from the throttle, PAS or hall connector. It's important that you get the other two the right way round. the ground wires must go together. That wouldn't matter with a two wire switch because it's just a switch.

Note that you will measure 5v on the signal wire because it's pulled up by a resistor. Don't get it confused with the real 5v one.
