Can you solder ? Just I found it easier to buy any old 36v lion charger - I bought a generic Chinese charger that originally came with a alien ocean bike.

Cut the connector off.

Head down to Maplins and buy the right connector for about £1.20 and solder it on

Job done !

Can you put the link here ? You need a 36v 250w 15a brushless controller with pas and an independent throttle to be a like for like replacement

you may need to replace the led handlebar switch at the same time

Almost certainly you would need to do some soldering as it's unlikely all the connector would match up

Can't give it away I'm afraid but

I do have a spare 8fun controller - the exact one that came with your kit.

Only minor issue is the connector that goes to the throttle is missing - you need to solder three wires

I can't give it away I'm afraid as it's my only spare ! But can let you have it for the price of BMS battery ku65 which I now use - about 30/35 quid with postage I think - maybe less. Have to check

If your not in a rush then a KU65 works a treat - I'm been using mine for ages - you just need to wait for Chinese post.

i just checked my broken controller here it says on it "rated current 7a maximum current 14a",does that mean that 15a controller wouldnt work for me?also why would i need to replace the led handlebar switch?do you have your controller for sale on ebay?i cant post the link to the controller on ebay as i dont know how to do that but its 36v 250w 10a would it be compatible with my kit do you think?the name of the shop on ebay is pedalease.thanks for your help kirstin.my sister just showed me how to paste a link

Hi

Two things with that controller I know for sure are

1) not all the connectors are the same
2) it's only 10a - that's too weak, you'll have far less torque although your battery will last longer

There are dangers that

1) it may not work with the 8fun led handlebar switch as it has a dedicated button between throttle and pas. I've had issues here before
2) there is other stuff those with more knowledge would point out !

My controller is not on eBay as it wasn't for sale. I like to have a spare just in case as I over volt my system (run at 48v not 36)

Quite happy for you to have it but don't want to be left without hence my offer. Until a month ago I had two of them but I gave that one

You could buy a ku65 which comes with a new led handlebar switch included. There are other, fancier one with sine wave etc that you can get - more expensive though

I've no wish to be pushy with a sale ! You've got options - it's more about

1 how much of a rush you are
2 how good you are at soldering
3 wether you want to use the opportunity to upgrade anything

Just pm me if interested

Cheers
Kirstin

Sorry but I just can't be sure if they will work or not having never tried

I have used both the 8fun supplied and a KU65 so I can be sure about those

Is there a reason why you don't want the ku65 in particular ? Or a direct 8 fun replacement ?

Ku65 runs sensor less without issue as that's my setup
