i swore I would never have one but I've gone and done it !!!

I have joined the Lycra clad and have purchased a carbon fibre road bike !!!!!

Giant Defy Advanced Pro 3.... Big differences are:-

1- it's not electrically assisted

2- it is very light weight

Really enjoying riding it.

Keeping the e bike for playing out :)

When I was in the South of France a week or so ago a neighbour had a similar bike, he showed me and I picked it up I could not believe how light it was, THEN he said try it now having taken off two water bottles from their carriers on it, UNBELIEVABLE!

As I get get back into cycling it is tempting to go for something like that, on the way back from France I stopped at a Decathlon (the kids love that place) and had a look at their models just for comparison, what I learned was that there is a lot of knowledge and experience required to ensure you get the right one for you, so I will take things easy and start increasing my eBike use and not rush.

A lot more interesting than a couple stupid iPhone 7 Pluses that I have wasted money on!

Keep the updates coming please :)

I came close to buying Defy 1 a few years ago. It certainly felt a relaxed geometry and an enjoyable ride. It accelerated blindingly fast as well.

The Genisis Croix De Fer catches my eye more these days, but I already a have a Mercier road bike that I don't ride and am about to list on Ebay, so can't see me buying a road bike any time in the near future.

I've long said that I would never sell this, but living on a lengthy hill that has an average gradient of 9.6% and a maximum one of 14%, the gearing makes it pretty undesirable to use. I also thought about changing the gearing, but suspect that it would still sit collecting dust.
