About four years ago I bought a v’lec pocket plus second hand from eBay and rode it, mainly over short distances, fairly regularly for couple of years. It‘s a bit light and wobbly-feeling sometimes, but not impossibly so, and well-made as well as having the advantage of being light enough to carry up a flight of stairs. Anyway, my commuting life changed so I haven’t ridden it for about a year. It’s been kept inside, away from the elements, but the battery has died, through non-use I suppose :(. I rode it unassisted for about 20mins today. Still dead.

Would anyone be kind enough to tell me how I might go about obtaining a new battery and replacing it myself? I don’t drive a car, and live in a valley with hills all around, so would love to have a means of getting a bit further than my immediate neighbourhood without having to use public transport.

Thanks in advance

You could try contacting Batribike who used to be the UK distributor but there is no mention on their website so they probably don’t sell them anymore. If they can’t help, the battery can probably be recelled by Insat International. Contact Jimmy at
