Need Stand

Featured Replies

Try decathlon I notiiced last week they were selling 3 types starting at £40 going up to £100.

Hi John,

Welcome to the forum.

From time to time Lidl sell reasonable workstands for £30, it's identical to this one from Decathalon http://www.decathlon.co.uk/one-workshop-stand-id_8309301.html

Because of the extra weight of electric bikes you need a sturdy one with good strong clamps.

The design of the frame is going to make using a work stand awkward.

I don't think the stand clamp will grip the main part of the frame.

The clamp, turned vertical, might grip the seat post.

You would certainly need the battery out, and it could be there is a battery mounting rail welded to the seat post which might hinder the grip of the stand's clamp.

I don't bother with a stand, I put Mountain bike horns on the handle bars (I'm sure they have a correct name) - the ones that stick forwards. adjust them up so when the bike is put upside down it rests on these and the seat. Flip the bike the correct way up and just keep flipping it over as required. Occasionally if required I suspend the bike from the roof of my shed with a rope, but a stand - you have to store that and it takes space as well as money!!

Try managing without a stand Johng1010, you'd be surprised at how much of a good workout you get!;)

Hi All

I have recently purchased a Prorider E-Wayfarer folding bike

http://www.proriderleisure.com/leisure/electric-bikes/e-wayfarer-electric-folding-bike-red.html

I would like to get a maintenance stand (hope that is correct name) for this

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I have hooks on chains screwed into my garage joist/crossbeam. One hook holds onto the handlebars about the centrepost, the other hooks onto the back of the saddle. Adjust the length to suit your needs. They can be lifted up on themselves when not wanted

Thanks

Wicky - I don't want to hijack the thread but can I ask which seat post you have fitted to your eRaceP and also how do you like it? My bike's the estyleP so the same one would would probably fit and I could do with a bit more cushioning for my back end!

I got mine here (yesterday):

http://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/suntour-sp12-ncx-suspension-seatpost-27.2-mm-hard-215431?currency=3&delivery_country=190

£44.83 + approx. £5delivery

got some replacement spikes for my winter tyres in the same shipment at £8.50ish and the whole lot is being delivered for £58.31

I've just purchased and used this stand for the first time...

It's rated to carry 30kg and it coped with my KTM eLycan fine. It seems like a very well made stand and incredibly good value for £30 delivered!

Hi

Do you have another link

I get "Product not found" with that one and searching their site can't find anything

Thanks

Hi

Not quite sure what this does

Is the idea to clamp this onto seat and handlebar stems to create a crossbar?

Thanks

I believe that this would be to create a crossbar for bikes without to aid clamping for servicing purposes and allow supporting from closer to the centre of gravity with a stand.

The link did work last week, it would seem that they have sold out and removed it from stock and searches!
