A years family membership to the The National Trust is between £61 and £82 depending on how you join, the price also includes free parking at NT sites.
If parking is not such an issue for you or you are unlikely to visit sites too often then you can have a years family membership for £19 without the free parking.
There is no catch there is just a workaround of the T&Cs of the old colonial NT equivalents.
So you apply and join the NT of New Zealand for $50 (£19) and you get to visit all UK NT sites for free (except for parking).
I did it, it works they even sent me a full list of UK NT sites with the membership pack and card.
