Nano Electric (Brompton) Problem, Wheels Turning but Little Power

My Nano Electric motor has recently decreased the amount of power to the front wheel. The front wheel still spins (slower than normal) when I lift the bike off the ground but if I were to sit on the bike, the engine does not have enough power to rotate the wheel. I can hear the sound of the engine when I turn the throttle but barely any power comes out.

The battery is fully charged and the fitting is only 10 months old.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Ian, welcome to the forum.

The motor has a friction drive ring that can crack and produce the symptoms you describe, so suggest you contact Nano as it should still be under warranty.

Almost certainly a cracked ring. If it's not under warranty, replace the motor with a Q85 and suitable controller from BMSBattery.com. That would mean lacing the motor into the front rim.
