This will take some beating.. and its only January..
Yesterday a trip to the chippy saw me in the shop, watching the bike like a hawk as it was alarmed but not chained, so got my order and left, only to be confronted by a young woman is some distress asking for help!! Well what do you do?
She said she had a bird on her car and as she was terrified of birds could I remove it for her.. Yep, pick up a squished sparrow?
Nope, there was a Blue Tit clinging desperately to the wiper arm and very much alive, and had been there for some miles so was by now quite lost ..
I offered it my finger and it hopped straight on looking slightly ruffled but otherwise none the worse for its journey, so I removed to to a nearby bush.
At this point I realised I had been effectively distracted and could have lost my bike.. but no it was still there..
Stories like this are easy to tell, but then I remembered my rear facing camera.. The view is not so good but you can see her distress when I had the bird on my finger..
Two good deeds in one!!
