Dillenger electric refused to replace a broken part under warranty, not only that but they offered to sell me the broken part for $50, which to me was a slap in the face. This is when I decided to buy out several domain names, www.dillengerelectric.com www.dillengerelectricbicycles.com and document my experience so that other consumers don't fall for their bogus boisterous warranty claims that they have the best warranty in the business and that it's unlimited...etc. The website has a ton of info including a timeline, copies of my receipts, copies of the support conversations, copies of their warranty claims, pictures showing why the rack broke and even a section showing how I repaired my rack and how you can repair yours too.

I've set this post to notify me when a reply is posted and I will answer any and all questions that you have. In the meantime please check out my website and feel free to share any negative experiences that you've had with dillenger yourselves, I doubt I'm the only one that got totally screwed by them, the website again is:

it seems that the faulty rack was made by bolting the battery mounting plate to an existing seat post rack. The seat post rack was never designed to resist an upward pulling force. I would simply fix the rack myself. Drill 8 small holes and use brass wires to rig the flat black top to the rack's bars and a bit of epoxy to seal the brass wires.

The first time it broke, I would have cut off the rest of it and bolted the plate directly to the three supports. It would be stronger and neater like that. It would also be a lot quicker and easier than complaining to Dillenger. I would then have sent details of my modification to them, so that they can consider what to do.

Frankly, I don't believe that Dillenger don't have a problem with it, unless everybody whos rack breaks, just chucks it and gets a better one when they realise that it's a crap idesign. The rack is a sort of freebie that comes with the kit anyway. You're buying the electrical system. Maybe a lot of people don't even use the rack: I wouldn't.
