My dog trailer hitch is too small for my bicycle

Can anyone offer any advice? I have a cyclamatic power plus cycle and a medium skiidii dog trailer. The hitch is too small for the rear axle on the cycle. The hitch does fit a standard bicycle. I can't find any info online about hitches that fit the cyclamatic but I can't be the only one to have had this problem. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Rear hub motors commonly have a larger spindle diameter (12mm) than normal bike spindles (10mm), so if it's that which is the trouble, the part that fits on the spindle just needs to be drilled or filed out slightly larger.

Thanks for the info, I wasn't sure if it was 1 or 2mm out. I'll get 2mm extra drilled. It should be easy enough to get another hitch for the standard bicycle.
