Interesting read. Thanks for taking the time to put it down. More real world stories of regular users is whats needed to give electric bikes More credibility as a serious commuter option.

Yes, we do need more posts like this if people are to be convinced of the usefulness of electric bikes. I was sceptical, until I met a lady who used hers for, what I considered, a long commute. Ten miles each way to work for four years, not two, as I originally thought. I used to look at the stationary traffic every day, as I pedalled to work, and thought: 'What choice do many of them have? Perhaps they have a long way to go'. I realise now that probably fifty per cent of the drivers (one person in each car) could use a pedelec to get to work and back. Using one is the best way to find out, and posts like the one from Sven do a lot to educate people. Things have to change - we cannot keep building more roads. Pedelecs use so few resources, and most of them are metal and re-cyclable. I cover about fifty miles per week, in all weathers. (Not much snow, yet).My cost-per-mile, if I complete a year, will be about 28 pence. On a sunny day, it's a real pleasure to be out! Go where you wish, with very little effort, and low cost. Heaven!

Hi Pat,

yes I was wondering if I should wait till I have finished that.
However now it is finished and will be updated in the same cycle as the German page - which will be monthly or weekly if there is something to report.

Cheers
Sven

Thanks for posting this. It's quite informative and entertaining in a slightly Michael Palin "fell off near Moscow" kind of way.

Good luck with the bike after the teething troubles.
