Hi I have just got back from meeting Flecc and buying probable the best kept Giant lafree Lite electric bike in the uk.:D
I can’t decide which was best meeting Flecc in person, buying the Lafree or getting to ride the T and Q Electric bikes, I thought the Heinzmann Kit on my moutain bike had a lot of toqu but there’s no way it can compete with the Q as well as having the pulling power, I was really surprised at the speed it was able to achieve with such small wheels.
I haven’t driven a toqu before so cant really compare the original to Fleccs conversion but I can say it was Lighter than my Daughters Wisper 905e and the fastest electric bike I have ridden so far.
The Giant Lafree is one of the bikes I have been after ever since I started looking at electric bike as my main form of transport but had concerns over the Panasonic Charger and the 6.5 amp Battery not being able to give the range I required, this Lafree has the Metco charger and Flecc has recently recelled the battery pack with an 8 amp set of batteries. I had to ride though London from Fleccs to Liverpool st station this afternoon about 17 miles in some very heavy traffic, stopping fairly often to check the map to make shore I was heading In the right direction, this was my first time in the big city needless to say the bike performed perfectly, getting off the train at the other end and travelling another 4 miles to my front door total mileage 21 and still has 2 lights showing to the battery. WOW:eek:
Thanks Again Flecc ;)

Pleasure Andy, I'm glad you had a good run through to Liverpool Street Station through London's heavy traffic.

I thought the battery would be easily good for 25 miles or so, and with the couple of hefty hills you had to ride up, Gravel Hill and South Norwood Hill, having two lights after 21 miles is very good. I think in your much less hilly home area you should probably get around 30 miles at least. Not bad for 8 Ah, a testament to the Twist's efficiency.
