These seem to be available for around £100 (ASDA, Tesco, Argos) locked to Vodafone. I bought one recently to run mapping software, and fitness Apps Strava, Runkeeper and Memory Map. I unlocked it from Vodafone for £1.99 and I must say it's an excellent gadget for the price. Nice big high res screen, good camera, good GPS and running the latest Android OS.

I am a fan of all things Apple, but this Android device is very good for the price. Well worth considering if you want a decent smart phone or just a GPS based navigation / fitness device.

I don't like to admit it, but if I compare the Motorola (£99.99) against my iphone 5S (£549), the iphone doesn't look particularly good value for money. The Motorola screen is bigger and equal in clarity, but it's still a phone that will fit in your pocket, it has a quad core processor and is as fast as the iPhone's 64bit dual core. It doesn't have the satisfying feel of quality that you get from the iphone, but for only 18% of the cost of an iphone 5S, it's very good value.

My Samsung Note 2 with bluetooth keyboard and HDMI adapter has replaced my laptop and work computer. Cycling is so much nicer when you don't have to lump lots of stuff around with you.
I will get an android tablet at some point so I can replace my anatomy texts (will scan in work manuals as PDF docs).
I've also decided on a 'one lead' philosophy of just having micro usb chargers. My smartphone, my camera, my CR123 battery charger, bike camera, mp3 player, external speaker, BT headset, external battery charger, spare phone battery charging dock, kindle all use the same lead and it's sooo much simpler.

My wife of course has to ruin my zen thing and has an iPhone.
