Motor running weird after replacing PAS

Featured Replies

Hello,

Today I moved the 8FUN (swxk36v250w) with its 36v battery, generic controller (36v), led 5 level display from my bike to my wife's. I could not get out the old PAS as the crank is stuck so I replaced it with a new one. I bought the bike with the kit allready installed on it (used) so I have no instructions.

My problem: the motor starts when I move the pedals, stops and starts running again after I stop moving the pedals. I doesn't matter wich way the pedals go, it does the same thing. It looks like the sensor sends the signal the wrong way, or the controller gets it wrong.

Could it be the sensor? Did I do something wrong?

To get help you may have to give more detail. Did you replace the disc and pickup or just one part. Have you checked that all the plugs/sockets are matched properly. Are the new parts identical to the originals or of a different type. Are all the connections clean and correct ,not just the new ones. It must be something simple if the kit was ok on the other bike, it is down to checking each detail starting with the new parts. Can you get the bikes close enough to plug in the original sensor and check if everything works by turning the old crank. Post some pics of the parts for others to suggest a fix.
