Hi there folks, long time lurker, initially bought myself a BBS02, great fun, sold it over legal concerns. I originally thought if I bought something like the Eggrider V2 and limited to 250W 15.5mph I would be street legal. A lot of people here seem to agree that that isn't legal.
However, today I noticed the Super73-S2 has a "Super73 48V EPAC 250W limited motor" which can be de-restricted to travel at 30mph, I'm not quite sure how this is legal? Is this one of those situations where Super73 can state "No this is 100% a 250W motor, look! We even wrote it on the frame" but in reality it can happily runat 1200W...?
If there was a way for me to DIY myself such a bike, that serves as a 250W for the road (more than happy to obey the law in busy cities) but when I'm off road on private land/ abroad I'd love to unleash some more power... I'd buy it in a heart beat.
If the only legal way to do this is to be a manufacturer (Super73) who can just merrily stamp a motor as they see fit then I suppose my only option is forking out £2K+
Cheers all
