Motor internal spares for San Jiang hub

Hi

In a fit of enthusiasm for a customer I am attempting to repair a no-name Chinese electric bike. The rear hub/drum brake is a San Jiang (24V 20 thingies marked on case) and the problem is that the 3 nylon gears (that look a little like a pyramid and have some nice small bearings in them) have been stripped by the motor and are oval and as toothless as the telephone preference service. The central metal drive cog is in excellent condition.

All the electrics and the rest of the bike is in good condition. I have even found all the 10 little springs and rollers that fly out when you take it apart without knowing about the clutch and have a 95% chance of getting it pieced back together again!

So, is there anywhere to get hold of the internal gears? If not, anywhere to get an economical replacement motor (20" wheel).

Customer is dear little old lady and I want to do the repair as economically as possible.

Thanks for the quick reply.

The part in question is a "top hat" reduction gear, with a 25mm/9mm high small gear and a 45mm/13mm large gear as a single nylon moulding, teeth at about 10-20 degrees. No response from manufacturers.

I've had a rummage around but can't find any generic gear suppliers. It's hard to know whether this is something that might be a generic spare, but I suspect it is specifically moulded for San Jiang.

If anyone has any inspiration...20130718_091038.jpg

The motors occasionally come up on Ebay, often in a non-working bike. Normally, it would be easier to get a new different motor, but I think that one is a brushed motor (2 wires?) so you'd need a new controller too.

Yep, two wires, with a nightmare wiring loom (well, a large number of wires randomly stuffed together in a small hole joined with sealing wax, string, hope and insulating tape) so I don't fancy rewiring it.
