Many thanks for that, Flecc.

It's all far too exciting to fully comprehend at the moment, but if I may be so bold it would appear that we are fortunate to be living in these times. It seems that hardly a week goes by without news of some new development or technology.

Fantastic stuff...

The Korean manufacturer Mando will be presenting its Footloose drive system which sounds like a complete turkey, but should provide stiff competition for Steven Beard's motorised pedals.

The rest sounds pretty exciting. The lack of cheap, light weight, high capacity battery technology governs what is achievable to a large extent though.

I agree Tillson, the use of electric transmission just means considerable inefficiency to me. Great on paper though!

The increase in rear hub drives is a good thing, it might stimulate a far better choice of freewheels in both sprocket range and quality. They've been the poor relations of cassettes for far too long.

As SportRider says though, exciting times and the range of consumer choice is ever expanding. If this carries on and the UK market doesn't expand, we'll end up with each of us able to have a unique model!

Hmm - with many of these mid drive solutions looking to be retrofit I think I might hold off building my Tongxin mid drive MTB!

Once the big boys saw the success Bosch are enjoying in the E Bike market, it was only a matter of time. Changing times indeed and e bikes come of age.....

There is also another very exciting German mid motor to be announced as well as Bosch Mrk 2 next year. saying that I really urge members to try new Bosch system bikes they are just so good.....

My new Bosch AVE MH7 presently getting me up hills in Italy that would in the past be avoided at all cost! It is a stunning little bike.....
