hi all, just wondeed if anyone knows if it's possable to mod a 36v controller to run from a 24v battery.

I've switched over the dead controller that came with a phillips energy e bike for a new one but forgot to check how many batteries were in the battery pod and went by what it said on the pcb of the controller.
It looks like both controllers use the same board as it clearly says +36v on the power in wire.

could I disable/adjust the low voltage shut off and still get the same or better performance from my new 36v as the equivilant 24v would give. I'm going to fit a big retro analog "0 to 30" volt meter anyway instead of little leds so I can monitor the voltage as I ride.

or should I just buy another controller?
Its a simple brushed hub motor and i've no space for a 3rd battery.
cheers, steve A

It might be possible but may require replacing components within the controller. However, I'd get a new controller. £8 + postage from an eBay seller
