Nikon 201.. I just read your detailed review of the Synergie Mistral.
I too own a Mistral which I bought back in March this year for £450 including delivery off eBay, although the price is more now, and have enjoyed over 1000 miles of trouble free riding.. great value I think and no regrets. It's interesting to note that you, like me, do not dislike the tyres, as the first thing some do when first acquiring their Mistral is to go to the trouble and expense of changing them. Yes,the fitted Cionlli saddle is very comfortable but, there again, some prefer to change that for something more "manly" and uncomfortable.. to my mind. Battery rattle can easily be cured by fitting a suitable "o" ring over the seat post. You're right.. the user manual is "pathetic", but at least you got one with your bike, I had to send for mine. I too charge the battery without removing it and I never disconnect the plug at the back of the battery, but in this case you do have to remember to plug the charger into the mains last. The wires you refer to sticking out of the control box underneath the battery are for restricting the motor power. When these two wire are not connected together the bike is unrestricted. You say you are concerned about damage to these wires.. in that case why not do as I have done and tuck them out of harms way into the control box? I find I can climb any hill if I take it steady but 1 in 7 hills or greater reduces the speed to only around 5 mph but I'm not much more than 10 stones in weight which helps a lot.
