Hi all!

Really hoping someone can help, I bought a Pendleton e bike and there are four screws that have fallen out.
The screws sit underneath the battery and screw through the white racking, just trying to find what they are so I can replace them.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Best wishes,

Anna

Screws are designated by material thread size, length and heat type. 5mm diameter hole is M5 and 6mm is M6. You have to assess what length will do. Normal screws with a hexagon in the top are called hex cap screws.

You can use stainless steel or zinc plated steel screws. You can also cho0se between Phillips (cross-head) or hex.

I'm going to guess that you need M5 x 10mm hex cap screws, but you'll have to look and see whether that legth and diameter matches what you need.

You normally need a matching washer under the head, which would be an M5 washer. That's as far as the Chinese factories that made your bike go. To stop screws xoming undone, you need one of three additional things, all of which will solve them coming undomne again: A spring washer (M5), a grip washer or some Loctite on the thread.

Your local Screwfix will stock them, though relatively expensive. Wilkos have them very cheap either in packets or from their pick-and-mix fixings station, where you can fill up a bag with any mix of different fixings - about 50-100 different ones to choose from including M5 screws washers and nuts.
