Mahle X35 Freewheel failure help

Hi. I own a Lapierre eSensium 300 bought in Feb 2021 fitted with the X35 Hub Motor.. I have done just under 4000 miles on the bike without issue until lately. It started with a clicking from the drive train and an occasional "miss" or jump as if jumping cogs on the cassette. Given the mileage I had LBS change chain and cassette and check all bearings etc. The issue quickly returned and this weekend the crank totally disengaged with the pedals rotating in either direction without engaging the cassette at all. Back to LBs and the current opinion is that the freewheel has failed - and there's the problem. The freehub appears to be part of the motor casing and a) needs specialist tools to remove and b) finding a replacement freewheel online is almost impossible. As the X35 is also used by Orbea / Ribble and others I wondered if anyone has come across this and knows the solution. Also separately I have contacted both Lapierre and Tredz ( supplier ) to confirm if this is a warranty repair ( 2 years warranty on parts ) Any thoughts / views / advice will be appreciated.

if it is in warranty id get them to sort it out as might not even sell the parts to the public to fix whats broken

X35 is a rip-off of the Q100C/AKM100X. It comes apart the same way. The side-plate and freehub assembly are probably obtainable from Mahle. Before doing that, pour copious amounts of penetrating oil (must be penetrating, not normal oil) into the free-hub and tap it with a hammer until the pawls re-engage. many ebike free-hubs have been brought back to life that way. The problem is rust in the free-hub, which jams the pawls.

I'm wondering if a Q100C sideplate will fit. They look identical in photos, but would need to see more of the X35 one:

Thanks for all replies so far. Interestingly while walking the bike to the LBS the freehub did re-engage for a short while then failed again under pressure. Its at LBS now so will share your responses there. Many thanks all. Will update resolution in due course ( not heard back from Mahle, Lapierre or Tredz yet so a bit disappointed there.)

Might just be needing the pawls cleaning and oiled, perhaps not done well enough at manufacture, perhaps a bit of road moisture got in.

But regardless, big names like Mahle should be doing better CS than this.
