£20,000 sovs!!

They are having a laugh for sure. ;)

It would appear that some manufacturers view the Ebike market the same as the Swiss Watch industry. Charge a fortune, and there will always be some Dork that has more cash than brain cells!

Would'nt mind a go on it though.

Usual wall of words to disguise its deficiencies.
They are trying to sell a high end product to the Yacht and Rolls Royce crowd on...ebay?

Yeah - too funny huh - I just sent them the following questions - interesting if I get anything back:

"Hi there. Interesting bike. I would like to know a bit more about the performance though - could you please tell me what is the top speed? And what capacity is the battery? And what is the range? and also what is the overall weight of the bike including battery? I would appreciate any replies - thanks."

These guys from Hungary have been creating this for the last 4 years .
I had a ride of the 1st incarnation in 2009 and was under whelmed let's say .
Lots of bizarre options on the bike. Total cost is upto 40k euros approx.
Nice guys wrong marketing plan and wrong price.
Some rich guy from Saudi will have 3 of them .

I can understand listing on eBay for the cheap worldwide exposure, but it does smack of desperation.
No doubt appeal to those who 20k would be like 20p to the rest of us……
I would also be interested in the ‘important’ performance specifications………..
Yes,mad…

Wierd isn't it that apart from the title there are no 'electrical' etails anywhere in the add.

How do you make Aluminium and Carbon fibre weigh that much?

I just re-read the ad.
If they really carve the frame out of a 200kg block, it would help explain the weight as the frame may be solid aluminium?

Well I got answers to my questions - main one from my interest is the weight...... 65lbs! Sheesh! Whats that 30kg? WAY too much! Ah well. Here's what they said:

"Dear James,

We have several options regarding the motor and battery sizes. The basic details are as per below:

250-2000W motor power • 20-45 mph max speed • 20-50 miles range with a single charge

The complete weight of the bicycle is 65 pounds.

Standard Battery: 43,2V - 18,6Ah
Extra Battery: 43,2V - 27,9Ah Extra price: € 800

As for the other features of the bicycle, I can send you a brochure with all the details, and I am happy to answer any of your questions regarding M55 electric bikes.

You can contact us directly on on website or write back to us here.

Kind regards,

Daniel Antal"

What, they have the cheek to charge *Extra* for more batteries?
Nice game to be in, pandering to the richer-than-smart.

Well I wrote a very nice polite reply saying thanks for sending me the information.

Everybody's trying to make a buck and I won't knock somebody for the effort. Nobody is forced to buy one - and if its selling then somewhere there's a market for them - obviously not here - but somewhere somebody will be happy they got one.

So be it.

Well said. Much of the population wear bling to some degree or other, utterly pointless and even less useful an expense than this e-bike. Half the population daub themselves with expensive greasepaint and the like daily in an attempt to look better, but much of the time ending up looking worse.

But it's a free world and they can be as stupid with their money as they like. While they are letting it go so easily, it could easily end up in any of our pockets.
