hi all my vita uno has a bottle battery mounted on front downtube. I charge the battery on the bike.
but periodically check and tighten the 2 bottle battery frame screws.

I have lost or mislaid keys so cannot remove battery , would there be a code on frame holder or any suggestions for this dilemma.

thank you

The latch at the top of the battery is very strong. Try with a big flat screwdriver to see if you can yank the battery out. I reckon it's not going to be successful and you may have to drill out the silver bar under the battery. You'll need a new mounting kit with new lock and keys in any case.

You'll be very lucky to find a key that fits.

If you can't get a key, you can lever them apart, which breaks off a removable retaining piece. I can send you a spare one for the cost of postage (£1) to fix it then. Once you have it apart, you can either replace the lock or remove the tumblers from your existing one so that you can open it with any key.

The bikes that we sell are supplied with either 3 or 2 keys depending on the brand.
If a customer comes to collect or we deliver a bike in person, we ask the the customer to only use 1 key and keep the others separately somewhere safe.

Unfortunately, some people manage to lose them all and with the battery locked on the bike the only solution is to drill the lock and replace with a lock and set of keys.

Instead of messaging, you "start a conversation". How you get there depends on what system you use. For Windows, you click on the user name, go to thrir profile and then start a coversation IIRC. In Tapatalk, you have to be on the forum's home page and click the three little top right hand lines, then conversations.
