The old part number is 0275007513 but it looks like the following are also compatible: 0275007514 / 0275007522 / 0275007531 / 0275007532 / 0275007550 . Looks like the photo attached. Thanks

Thanks, yes, it looks like they have one listed for £339. I was hoping I might be able to find a cheaper solution just to keep me on the road, maybe second hand or reconditioned.

Trouble with Bosch bikes is that the motors are too reliable, so not that many secondhand batteries in a state worth having come up.

If it is just a matter of keeping the bike on the road I have an old (2016 approx) 300wh rack battery, in Winchester. I replaced it a bit ago with a 500wh from Merlin while the price wasn't too bad (as mentioned above), and I was afraid replacement might get very sparse and even more expensive. I think it probably has about 70% or original range; suitable for shortish rides for the next couple of years but no promise.

Reconditioned is a difficult (not impossible) task because the BMS needs to stay connected while replacing cells, otherwise it dies and the whole thing is bricked. I have heard (on this forum) of Torqu-e-cycles (https://www.torqu-e-cycles.co.uk/) for recelling, others may comment.

Another vote for Merlin if you do want one. Cheap, quick and efficient.

£25 to go to charity. Out of date web page, https://sumbawanga.org.uk/ Current main project is a bore hole for local girls secondary school. Girls are mainly weekly borders as travel is difficult (not nearly as difficult as it was a few years ago). Water currently has to be head carried for quite a distance.

the new smart batts will not work with the older motors so the time will come soon when older ones are not made anymore so get what you can as cheap as you can.

a 3rd party company in Germany makes 3rd party batts for bosch but wont post to uk

sjpt thanks, it sounds like your old battery would be fine for my purposes. Did I understand correctly that I could have it in return for a £25 donation to your charity? In which case I am very happy to do that

Yes, that's right. I don't think I can post it; complicated for individuals because of health and safety, firms make special arrangements. You can pick up in Winchester more or less any time. PM me if you are still interested. I'll put it on the bike tomorrow to double check it is working; it's been kept for a few months at a sensible level of charge.

thing is magura send bosch batts to the uk but then the dealer cant post it to the customer as its a bomb.

if i want a batt to be delivered to me then id need a dealer with a magura account to send me one direct.

but a hole bike can be posted with the batt installed.

Unfortunately I am in London and don't have any plans to be near Winchester anytime soon. What a shame, just when I thought a solution was turning up. I don't suppose you or any friend of yours ever comes to London by any chance? I would be happy to meet at a time and place of your choice anywhere in London and there's no hurry.

he could just post it but if anything happens he be in the shitter.

ebay has banned the sale of 2nd hand batts but company's can still post them you just need to find some one to ship it to you with the correct postage label stating it is a lion batt.

so if you want to pay some one to pick it up and ship it to you it is then you that are liable esp if you dont say what it is.

100's (1000's?) of people commute from Winchester to London each day but I don't know any well enough to ask. I avoid going to London whenever possible. We might be in Barnes next Friday; and there's a chance I'll be seeing a friend who could get it to Hatton Gardens area.
