I am about to collect a Rockrider EST 900 from Decathlon next week and I have been looking at getting a bike rack for my 2019 Ford Focus.

I would prefer a hatchback mounted rack over roof mounted which would be too heavy to get a 22.5kg bike onto. A towbar mounted rack would probably be best but the car is a company car and the cost of fitting a towbar and rack is prohibitive.

The 2019 Ford Focus appears to be a nightmare to get any hatchback mounted rack for anyway due to a spoiler at the top of the boot lid.

Most racks I see seem to have a weight allowance of around 15-20kgs which excludes my bike going on them too.

Can anyone advise if they have successfully used a bike rack on this car for Ebikes.

I only need the rack to carry one bike.

I should be able to get the bike in the back of the car as I do currently with a standard MTB but just looking to keep the interior of the car cleaner and I also think the new EST 900 may be bigger and be harder to fit inside the car.

I've tried a couple of those hatchback type racks to carry an ebike - totally useless! It's much easier to take your wheel off, turn the handlebars on the stem and put the bike inside the car. You can take both wheels off the Rockrider, so it should easily fit in the back with the seats down.

Try taking the Battery off and it will probably below 20kg. Any other solution will be more expense and/ or more hassle.

An explanation of this statement would be useful, most people seem to get by with these whats your issue with them.
