Looking for a strong but light e-bike for hilly commute

I have run a Woosh Sirocco CD (~3 yrs) and a Giant LA Free (~7 yrs) ragged up hill and down dale on the way to and from work (9 miles each way) and now need a new e-bike. I prefer the lighter bikes (hills are v steep) & clearly need to consider investing in something that can take punishment. However, I don't go off road and find MTB style bikes are often too slow. I would be grateful for any suggestions please.

Have you been to Atmosphere in Bristol? Alistair the owner has just doubled the size of his shop and has plenty of experience to guide you.
Always better to try before you buy.

yes. A lot of the components have been upgraded. The controller on the Sirocco CD is rated 14A, the Bali has 18A controller. The front brakes are now much more powerful German designed Avid brakes. The battery is now also much lighter. Chunkier and stronger square frame tubes.
