I've just got back from the London Freewheel event. Great day out; nice weather helped, it's saying there were 45,000 there on the news, which I can believe.

Basically they closed the roads from Hyde Park Corner to the Tower of London via Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Sq and the Embankment. Ironically it is the route I take every day to work, so it was very interesting to see the roads without cars.

Nice atmosphere. Lots of young children, some wobbling around as if they had never cycled on a road before, which they probably hadn't! There were a few tandems, and even a quad (ie four riders in tandem, not a motorised lawnmower thingy), a few unicycles, but I only saw one other electric - which was an Ezee Sprint or similar looking bike.

Yeah, really god day. We rode in from Bromley and there must have been 100+ on the ride into London. The ride kept on growing as we neared the Freewheel site.
