Possibly not one of my brighter ideas given location, but I'm thinking of trying to encourage my wife into the world of cycling by buying a Woosh Santana Petite, but with the possibility of my daughter also using the bike for a trial period, as she shortly enters her third year at the UEA. Up until now she has been using a Raleigh Twenty, but a change of address in the coming year, mean that the good old Twenty is no longer a viable option, and given the new route, and increased work load for her, an ebike could make a viable option for commuting to and from campus.
Whilst I have spotted the odd ebike locked up at the university, I am concerned about the potential for damage or theft. Obviously the battery can easily be removed so no problem there, but the lcd display cannot, and I am now wondering if thee are any ebike specific locks that cover the display. I could probably get a local engineer to fabricate one, but would assume that by now, someone must be marketing them? The lock is to help prevent damage rather than bike theft, and yes I do realise that the wires etc would still be vulnerable.
Any thoughts beside the obvious of not using an ebike appreciated.
