Hi, hopefully Flecc,

Could you please explain how to post a link back to an earlier thread on the forum. With lots of questions being asked that have previously been covered it would be very useful.

I have a good memory of earlier threads and it's a bit frustrating not being able to quickly point members to them. Long before I became a member, and whenever you described how to do something, I used to copy it into my "How to" folder. Unfortunately, there isn't one about posting links.

I'm sure you won't mind helping. Oh by the way, I'm using crappy old IE.

Regards

Bob

Hi Bob. Once you've found the thread or individual post you want to refer to, have a look above the right hand side, just above the posting date, and you'll see the word "permalink". Right click on that word and you get a context menu, and from that, click "copy shortcut".

Then you can paste the link into where you want it in the usual way, right click and paste.

If you want to make it neater than the long link, type a suitable word or two to refer to the link, then highlight those words and use the blue globe above the reply box to enter and ok the link.

The word(s) you typed will now be a hyperlink
.
