Is there such a thing? Also within my budget of less than £1000? No matter how hard I try, dérailleur gears are just too hard to maintain, I can't for the life of me understand why they are so ubiquitous here in the UK. Preferably with battery less than 23kg.

Hi Vidtek, there's only one hub geared folding electric bike that I'm aware of for less than £1000. Are you planning to buy online or visit a shop?

We have very little choice here in Bournemouth, no dealerships here have a decent selection of e-bikes, so it's going to have to be an online affair.
I've already purchased a Whoosh bikes Sunbear online, and am very happy with it, I also got a Kudos Safari for the wife, but she hated it, much too heavy for her. She's 7 stone and very wiry and strong for a nearly 60 year old, but the Safari was just too cumbersome for her, so I sold it at a huge loss the other day.

It's put her off cycling as she fell off it and is now a bit wary of all bikes. I'm hoping to be able to find one that I could get her to try for a couple of days before I actually have to purchase, but to get a folder on hire is a tall order I think.

Cheers, Tony.

20" folder with hub gear and crank drive. Well within your budget.

Hi Trex-
This looks interesting, fits the bill just right. I'd like to try one for a few days though, give me a chance to persuade the wife, could you possibly twist Andy's arm to give us a trial?

Cheers, Tony.
